From 25th Sep onwards, we had continuous three days holidays. Sitting at home for three days has become almost an impossible task for us now. So, we thought of planning for a long trip. When we checked with my in-laws regarding this trip, they agreed to come with us. Deciding on the place was our immediate next task.
Hogenakkal Falls located in Dharmapuri district of Tamil Nadu is often referred to as Niagara of India. At Hogenakkal, the river Kaveri creates numerous waterfalls which is treat to watch. I visited this water falls few years ago with my friends and I wanted to show the beauty to Thilak, but this trip was a major disappointment for us. Read the rest of this entry

Ooty, the queen of hill stations is the beautiful capital of Nilgiri district in Tamil Nadu. This was a special trip for me. I got eight new friends in this trip. They are all Thilak’s friends. They planned a trip to Ooty and included me as well. We were 10 of us (5 boys, 5 girls). Read the rest of this entry
Both of us had great time with my in-laws this entire week and wanted to end their stay in our house by visiting the popular Chitragurga fort. My father-in-law is very much interested in history. The book he was reading recently was Durgastamana by a famous Kannada writer TaRaSu. This book tells the entire history of Chitradurga and we thought this is the best time that we actually visit the place when the memories of the book are still fresh in his mind. This is my second visit to Shravanabelagola in 4 years and Thilak’s first visit. The Accuweather told us that it would be cloudy throughout the day at Shravanabelagola. It made us all happy. Thilak, Rajath, and I were ready for this trip at 6.30 AM on a beautiful Sunday morning. Read the rest of this entry
Rajath was there with us in Mysore this time. My SIL’s family had planned to take us all to KRS Backwaters. Thilak told me that there is an ancient Venu Gopala Swamy temple which gets buried in the backwaters during rainy season and when the water level reduces, it resurfaces. But, Bhava told us that this famous temple has been relocated to a safer place simply to save the ancient culture. I was very excited when I heard this. Read the rest of this entry
There was no electricity, no internet connection, no TV cable connection because of heavy rainfall yesterday. Therefore, we decided to go for a day trip instead of simply sitting at time. Finding one day tourist destinations around Bangalore has become the tough task for us now, but after some research we found an ancient Virupaksha temple in Kolar district.

We wanted to celebrate our first wedding anniversary (Apr 13th) somewhere far from Bangalore. Hill station was our first preference as the summer in Bangalore this year is intolerable. Since April 14th was Thilak’s birthday, both of us decided to take leave on that day as well. So, we decided to go for a three days trip. Read the rest of this entry
This was our second trip of this month. Lepakshi was in our to-go list from a long time. We planned well for this trip. My brother Rajath also joined us. Lepakshi is a place in Ananthpura district of Andhra Pradesh and is around 130 km from our home. The place is famous for its beautiful and very old temple (built during Vijyanagar empire).
We travel to Mysore atleast once a month and Srirangapatna is just 20 km from my sister-in-law’s home in Mysore. But, I have not been to this place in recent years. I had visited this place when I was in 1st or 2nd standard. So, this time when we went to Mysore, we decided to visit this famous place. There were many places in Srirangapatna like Ranganatha Temple, Daria Dulat, Tipu Palace, etc.
This was our first day trip in the new year 2015. We wanted to go to a place nearby, but we found that we had covered almost all one day tourist destinations around Bangalore. That’s when I visited our favorite travelogue “Payana” and found an interesting place called Turuvekere, where the blogger had mentioned about the lost temples of Turuvekere.
This was a very quickly planned trip. Not exactly a trip, but a long ride. After many days, this weekend, we got some free time to spend alone. We did not go anywhere on Saturday, but on Sunday we were getting bored to sit at home. So, Thilak gave an idea to go on a long ride to Pyramid Valley in the evening. Pyramid valley is a famous meditation center in Bangalore. Both of us wanted to visit this place from a long time. In TripAdvisor, the place had got very good reviews. So, we finalized our plan to visit this place in the evening.
This weekend, my parents were at our home. Unfortunately, there are very few one day tourist destinations in Bangalore to take our relatives. Nandi Hills, Dodda alada mara, Koti Lingeshwara are the three important places among them. Thilak had taken my in-laws to all these three places. My parents are yet to visit Nandi Hills and Koti Lingeshwara. We had to leave early in the morning to go to Nandi Hills which we could not do it this time as we came home late yesterday night. This was the first time I was visiting Himavad Gopala Swamy Betta. Thilak had been there twice before. This was a family trip with my sister-in-law’s family. Their 4 months old little prince also was coming with us. Thilak had told me earlier that, it would be very cold at the hilltop because of cold wind. We wondered how the little one would feel, but my sister-in-law and her husband were confident that he would enjoy the weather.
