Both of us had great time with my in-laws this entire week and wanted to end their stay in our house by visiting the popular Chitragurga fort. My father-in-law is very much interested in history. The book he was reading recently was Durgastamana by a famous Kannada writer TaRaSu. This book tells the entire history of Chitradurga and we thought this is the best time that we actually visit the place when the memories of the book are still fresh in his mind. We travel to Mysore atleast once a month and Srirangapatna is just 20 km from my sister-in-law’s home in Mysore. But, I have not been to this place in recent years. I had visited this place when I was in 1st or 2nd standard. So, this time when we went to Mysore, we decided to visit this famous place. There were many places in Srirangapatna like Ranganatha Temple, Daria Dulat, Tipu Palace, etc.
This was our first day trip in the new year 2015. We wanted to go to a place nearby, but we found that we had covered almost all one day tourist destinations around Bangalore. That’s when I visited our favorite travelogue “Payana” and found an interesting place called Turuvekere, where the blogger had mentioned about the lost temples of Turuvekere.
This was a very quickly planned trip. Not exactly a trip, but a long ride. After many days, this weekend, we got some free time to spend alone. We did not go anywhere on Saturday, but on Sunday we were getting bored to sit at home. So, Thilak gave an idea to go on a long ride to Pyramid Valley in the evening. Pyramid valley is a famous meditation center in Bangalore. Both of us wanted to visit this place from a long time. In TripAdvisor, the place had got very good reviews. So, we finalized our plan to visit this place in the evening.
