Male Mahadeshwara Betta (M M Hills)

Thilak’s friends had planned for a bike ride to Male Mahadeshwara Betta on 1st Oct. Since I have also become part of their group now, I was also invited for this trip. Male Mahadeshwara Betta, popularly known as M M Hills is a famous pilgrimage destination in Chamaraja Nagar district of Karnataka which attracts large number of tourists from Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. Bilikal Hills

A sudden thought of going for a long ride made us decide on going offroad ride to Bilikal Rangaswamy Hills, commonly known as Bilikal Hills. This hills is just 70 km from our home. Janapada Loka, Srirangapatna, and Melukote – Part 3

After visiting Janpada Loka and Srirangapatna, we proceeded towards our last destination of the day, Melukote. We were very happy to see our plan executing so smoothly. We had covered all the places in Srirangapatna as we planned and in addition, we had visited Janapada Loka also which was not in our initial plan. Janapada Loka, Srirangapatna, and Melukote – Part 2

After having a great time at Janapada Loka, we proceeded towards our next destination, Srirangapatna (Mandya ditrict, Karnataka) which was around 76 km from Janapada Loka. We had planned a family trip to Srirangapatna and Melukote with my parents and my brother’s family. Since we were 6 of us, we had to book a Zoom car. We opted for Mahindra Scorpio. Coorg and Slice of Wayanad

What a spectacular year 2015 was!! The year had given us numerous unforgettable memories and wonderful moments to cherish. We wanted to end this spectacular year with one more amazing trip. Both of us did not have a week long holiday. We just had three days long holidays (including weekend :-() and we decided on visiting Coorg this time. Kanchipuram and Mahabalipuram

We had to attend one of Thilak’s cousins’ wedding at Chennai on 26th October. I had stayed in Chennai for 1.5 years during the year 2009-2010. After 5 years, this was the first time I was visiting Chennai again. When we were searching for the hotels for our stay, I came across many familiar place names, which brought back old memories. Hogenakkal Falls

Hogenakkal Falls located in Dharmapuri district of Tamil Nadu is often referred to as Niagara of India. At Hogenakkal, the river Kaveri creates numerous waterfalls which is treat to watch. Ooty

Ooty, the queen of hill stations is the beautiful capital of Nilgiri district in Tamil Nadu. This was a special trip for me. I got eight new friends in this trip. They are all Thilak’s friends. Chitradurga

Both of us had great time with my in-laws this entire week and wanted to end their stay in our house by visiting the popular Chitragurga fort. My father-in-law is very much interested in history. The book he was reading recently was Durgastamana by a famous Kannada writer TaRaSu. This book tells the entire history of Chitradurga and we thought this is the best time that we actually visit the place when the memories of the book are still fresh in his mind. Shravanabelagola

This is my second visit to Shravanabelagola in 4 years and Thilak’s first visit. The Accuweather told us that it would be cloudy throughout the day at Shravanabelagola. It made us all happy. KRS Backwaters

Rajath was there with us in Mysore this time. My SIL’s family had planned to take us all to KRS Backwaters. Thilak told me that there is an ancient Venu Gopala Swamy temple which gets buried in the backwaters during rainy season and when the water level reduces, it resurfaces. But, Bhava told us that this famous temple has been relocated to a safer place simply to save the ancient culture. I was very excited when I heard this. Read the rest of this entry

Mulbagal Virupaksha Temple and Avani

There was no electricity, no internet connection, no TV cable connection because of heavy rainfall yesterday. Therefore, we decided to go for a day trip instead of simply sitting at time. Finding one day tourist destinations around Bangalore has become the tough task for us now, but after some research we found an ancient Virupaksha temple in Kolar district.
